Branch Award 2019
Margaret Rieger
Margaret started dancing in 1998.
Before long, she was elected to the Board of Directors as Treasurer, a position she held for six years. After a brief break Margaret was again elected to the Board of Directors as Vice Chair for the Toronto Association. As Chair, she was instrumental in the formation of the Great Lakes Group, which brings together Branches and Affiliate Branches in southern Ontario and Buffalo.
Margaret continues to be a member of the Finance and Marketing Committees. She is involved with the Dancewear Bazaar, held at our November Workshop. She has also danced
with the Demonstration Team, entertaining at Seniors’ residences.
Margaret likes to travel and when the opportunity offers itself, dances, whether it be in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or Hong Kong. She is a true ambassador of Scottish country dancing, exemplifying the friendliness and hospitality of the dance community. The Riegers’ home has
been the scene of many after-dance parties, with everyone invited. Over the years, Margaret has been an enthusiastic dancer and very involved member of RSCDS Toronto Association.
